2. Description of Service

PDF2Anki is an AI-powered service that converts PDF documents into Anki flashcards. The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze your PDF content and generate study materials in the form of flashcards that can be imported into Anki or compatible spaced-repetition software.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must register for an account. You may register using:

• External OAuth authentication
• Email and password combination

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Your account is for your personal use only and is non-transferable. You agree not to allow anyone else to use your account.

4. User Content and Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the PDF documents you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant PDF2Anki a limited license to process your documents for the purpose of generating flashcards.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to upload and process the content
• Your content does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights
• Your content does not contain malicious code, viruses, or other harmful components

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload or process content that you do not have the right to use
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit any harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Impose an unreasonable load on the Service
• Deliberately exploit any bugs found within our Service

6. Subscription and Payment

PDF2Anki offers premium subscription with a free trial period.

Trial Period:

• You may only use the trial period for a genuine assessment of the Service
• You must not attempt to use the Service for more than one trial period
• We can cancel your trial if we find that you have had access to a previous one

Payment Terms:

Payment terms, pricing, and subscription details are provided at the time of purchase. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

Auto-Renewal:

Where applicable, your subscription will continue to be auto-renewed for the subscription period you signed up to unless you end your subscription with effect from the next renewal date by following the instructions on our Service. Ending your subscription does not entitle you to a refund.

Payment Authorization:

You authorise us and our payment provider to place a hold on, or charge, your payment card for the relevant amounts or otherwise take payment whenever payments are due in accordance with this agreement. It is your responsibility to update your payment card details as necessary.

7. AI-Generated Content

The flashcards generated by our Service are created using artificial intelligence technology. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies.

You acknowledge that:

• Generated flashcards should be reviewed before use
• PDF2Anki is not responsible for the accuracy or quality of AI-generated content
• The Service is a study aid and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pdf2Anki is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. This limitation applies to any claims, whether based on warranty, contract, or tort.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

PDF2Anki does not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• The Service will be available at all times - we may suspend it for repair, maintenance, improvement or other technical reasons
• The results obtained from the use of the Service will be accurate or reliable

We are not liable for any inconvenience or loss caused by service outages or downtimes.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

• You breach these Terms
• Any fees payable by you are unpaid or charged back

We are entitled at any time to end this contract if we terminate our Service as a whole in our reasonable opinion for security, technical or operational reasons.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Service.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDF2Anki operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
